Dr. Mark Borchert has his Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Colorado, a Master’s degree in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas, and a graduate degree from seminary.  While in doctoral studies he served as a graduate market researcher at CableLabs, the cable industry’s major R&D institution.  He has worked in video production and denominational public relations and as a church communication consultant.  He has served as a film festival judge and workshop leader and for nearly a decade as director of the Mossy Creek Documentary Arts Festival.  His publications include book chapters religion and the press, film, and cyberspace.  Dr. Borchert enjoys incorporating both service learning and hands-on experiences into his marketing classes, including the use of Adobe Creative Suite, the ÓûÂþɬ Media Lab, and university’s digital production equipment.

Professor McHenry comes to Houghton from a brief time in public accounting. She found herself called to teach the very topics that she had fallen in love with as a student. Her love for accounting and all things related to personal tax may seem odd to some, but is what drives her to be the best she can be. Professor McHenry loves the parts of teaching that include the students. Whether it’s holding a review session, office hours or even just seeing everyone in the halls of Chamberlain, she enjoys being able to be a part of each person’s Houghton story.

Rev. Dr. Michael Jordan is an ordained Wesleyan pastor with eleven years of pastoral ministry experience in United Methodist, American Baptist, and Wesleyan churches. From 2002-2009, he was the pastor of Exton Community Baptist Church in Exton, PA, and has also served on the pastoral staff of his current church, Houghton Wesleyan. Mike’s wife Jill is a mathematician who also teaches at Houghton; they live just off campus and together are raising their five children: Grace, Jack, Lucy, Gabriel, and Anne. In his spare time, Mike enjoys singing, crossword puzzles and distance running and is a rabid fan of Philadelphia professional and college sports.
