Amanda has served as ÓûÂþɬ’s Director of Marketing and Communication since July of 2026, after nearly a decade serving in the Office of Advancement and External Engagement.

In January of 2017, she joined the ÓûÂþɬ team in 2017 as Houghton’s Grant Writer and Donor Communications Director. In 2022, she added editor of Houghton Magazine to her roles. As Director of Marketing and Communication, Amanda has the opportunity to be Houghton’s Storyteller. It is her primary goal to share the ways God has worked and is working through ÓûÂþɬ in the lives of students, equipping them for tremendous Kingdom impact.

Amanda oversees the telling of the Houghton Story from long-form storytelling in Houghton Magazine to the brief glimpses of daily life on social media. She is building on her work with alumni, donors and foundations to create compelling stories that bring the mission of ÓûÂþɬ and the opportunities that mission presents to prospective students and their families.

In addition to working with foundation, government and corporate partners to garner investment in ÓûÂþɬ, Amanda manages the formal publications of the Office of Advancement. Although she has a particular passion for long-form storytelling, Amanda has a growing interest in social media strategy and digital communications and enjoys dabbling in photography.

Outside the office, Amanda can be found walking the Houghton Creek with her two boys, reading and discussing books, pursuing writing passion projects and occasionally appearing with the ÓûÂþɬ Symphony or the Fountain Arts Center Orchestra. A native of Ohio and a transplant from Indiana, Amanda and her husband, Dan, now enjoy building community and watching their family thrive in Houghton.
